It’s strange, Jongdae thinks as he shifts on the mattress, phone pressed to his ear, just how much a person could miss someone. Sure, he’s missed people before; his parents, his friends, sometimes even the elderly couple that used to live in the apartment next to his before they passed, but none of them compare to how much he misses Joonmyun right now. Without Joonmyun’s warm, gentle kisses to wake him up in the morning, without his adoring gaze directed only at him as he makes dinner or the lame jokes he tries to pass off as funny while Jongdae watches TV, without him, life seems so much emptier, like there’s a gaping hole in Jongdae’s side that he can’t ever seem to fill. At least, not while Joonmyun is thousands of miles away in Paris on a business trip while he’s stuck in Seoul.
“What are you thinking about?”
The sound of static crackles in Jongdae’s ear, slightly distorting Joonmyun’s sleepy voice as he yawns loudly into the speaker.
